I have a dell inspiron E1505. It is one year old with xp home addition. In the last two -three days when lid is closed and later opened computer doesn't come out of sleep mode. I have to turn computer off and restart. Is there a fix?

are you sure it doesn't come out of sleep, or is it possible that the monitor doesn't turn on. These two things could be very similar looking but very different? Does the power LED show sleep or on function?

Yup, it can't be hardware. Comes out of standby just peachy. You have to set in in your preferences to go into standby instead of sleep.
