I was at best buy the other day and I saw this big battery pack that would probably be about the size of a smaller notebook, It said something like performance battery or something....anyways this was a monster of a battery...Is something like this available for an E1705, and if so how long could I go mobile on something like that? Would it get super hot?

    Thanks! :D

Extended batteries are always kind of a gamble. You never know how something that isn't designed for your system will work. My best advice would be to purchase a (couple) spare battery(ies) if you find yourself running out of juice. There is a 9 cell extended battery available if you don't already have it.

The e1705 is not a small notebook (an a big battery pack wouldn't help matters) and certainly doesn't get a super battery life. If you're looking for more stamina, you might check out other notebooks as well as make sure that you have your power settings adjusted properly.

I have not had experience with big battery packs, hopefully some of our other members will chime in.

Thanks for the input! Ya, Ill probably invest in 2 more 9 cell batteries and switch them out I guess. Im on "Dell recommended" battery operation and I like my screen nice and bright so I might as well get a couple 9 cells.

That would probably work. You should be able to get a couple 9cells for a pretty good price online if you look. (not from the dell site)
