I just purchased a d630 and i did a clean install. i didnt see any drivers for the dvd. is there one out there and i can't read? i saw a driver for a slimline cd drive on dell support. is that the driver to install? right now the drive is find but it bumps some when it initially reads media. my older inspiron 600m doesnt do that.

Thats because there aren't any. You don't need any special drivers for the DVD writer.

You don't need any drivers, it's built into Windows.

The drivers you occasionally see on Dell's site are not drivers, they're actually firmware updates.
