the screen brightness of the matte?

i've been reading a lot of reviews which say the matte screen of the d820/d620 is not very bright. i've seen a matte next to a glossy and to be honest, at full brightness i find the glossy a bit too bright for me.

I find the brightness as good as the 700 m with the glossy screen. The lateral viewing angle is not as good (that isn't a bad thing for prying eyes). Light leakage is more than the rest of mainstream laptops (limiting vertical viewing angles).

I am still happy with it.

Yes, the brightness is good enough IMO. I have the 945GM integrated graphics (GMA950) and the WXGA display (185 nits). I find it more than satisfactory.

Glossy displays tend to have better contrast, but I find that they give me eyestrain after awhile.

I'm satisfied with the brightness. It's good enough for what I do. Unlike a lot of people on these forums it seems, I really wasn't expecting too much in terms of screen brightness and whatnot from a business laptop. As long as it was in color, relativly sharp, allowed me to watch a few movies time to time in peace, I'm happy.
