Well I got my 1530 today with the samsung sreen. Its not as bad as I thought it would be. It could be clearer and brighter. I dont feel like spending the time and effort trying to get the screen replaced through dell. I got a great deal on my computer(refurbished but looks brand new) Part of me says stick with the screen becasue I probably would not have been as picky if I did not read these forums.. Another part says pay the 250 and get the lg screen. Has anyone done this?? its a waste of money but Im not going to send back my computer. Also how much should a computer tech charge for replacing a screen.
    Thanks for any info

You should not have to pay a tech to replace it, you can replace it yourself. Read and follow the service manual on the Dell Support site. It is step by step with pictures.

If you can get Dell to replace it, why pay for it? They should have put the right one in the computer in the first place.

ICE, sometimes if the returned LCD had severe issues, Dell may swap it out with a replacement. Hence the original system tag might have been registered with a Samsung screen, but was since replaced during refurbishing.

    To the OP,

If you are not satisfied with the screen, I am pretty sure your purchase comes iwth a warranty through Dell. Haver Tech Support troubleshoot and replace your screen if necessary. There should be no charge for this.
