    I have a philips 42pf9945 plasma TV supportingvga 640*480 60hz and svga 800* 600 56 hz my Latitude x1 dell does not seem to be compatable is there someone who knows how to make it work.

    the TV says this ? when does it say that ? if yo're using your tv as an external display, it's just a 'dumb terminal' and does what the notebook tells it to, so i'm not sure what you mean by the tv saying the format is not available?

    you have to be more specific with your setup and how/when you get an error. it's impossible to troubleshoot without accurate info from you.

    The TV should support a higher resolution than 800x600...have you tried setting a different resolution?

    Are you asking how to set it up so you see your laptops screen on the TV?

    sorry when i connect my laptop via the vga input of my tv on my tv screen ther apears a message saying picture format not available the philips manual for this type 42pf9945 says the input supports vga 640*480 60hz and svga 800*600 56hz the closest available driver in the notebook is 800*600 60hz The screen remains blank except for the message I had a compaq notebook on loan this worked, except since it did not have the right resolution so it was not properly displayed but i could few all i wanted to see.

    The resolution on your TV is 852x480, I don't know how you can go higher.

    hi my 42 inch plasm tv has hdtv and edtv i have my notebook conected to the vga input after alot of work iwas able to make 640*480 work by configuring my notebok and secondary display with only suitable driver 640 480 60hz but this is nt a good resolution to view things hdtv 1920* 1080i would be much better but i do not know how to make my dell latitude x1 acess that function can you help
