That's great for you but TOTALLY SUCKS for me. I ordered my midnight blue on July 16th and it's been in build stage ever since. It was supposed to ship today and instead I got the call that it's been delayed and the new ESD is Aug 28th. What is going on around here?

The rest of my specs are in my sig.

Exact same thing except I have a 5400RPM HD, and I ordered on July 13th and Its still in the build stage and has been delayed til the 28th.... and hearing stuff like this really pisses me off.

Orderd 7/28 - ESD 8/23 ... Still in Build stage... I have all of the same specs as you except for the Hard Drive. Is it because I'm ugly?

Good to hear that you've gone to testing! soon you'll have your laptop on your laps in no time. Meanwhile, has anyone yet to figure out how Dell manages to build these laptops??? It seems to me that they are sporadically picking which ones to build regardless of their order date. Stupid dell

did you order sometime after 7/20 and is your lappy a 1420, 1520, or 1720?

 

My lappy is a 1520 and ordered on 7/31/07 and i do have webcam etc.. the whole works... midnight blue

YES!!!! I'm in the production stage (TESTING) !!!! I was caught off guard when i called and didnt hear BUILD stage.

what was your estimated ship date? i ordered my midnight blue inspirion 1520 the same day as yours with the same specs except for hard drive and screen and got a esd of 8/29.
anyways, im thinking of calling up dell myself to see what stage im in. all i see on my dell account is "in production"

 

Mine has been in build stage since 7/5, so this makes me a little annoyed. But congrats to you. Enjoy it!

 

My new estimated ship date is Aug 28th. I talked to my companies EPP rep yesterday and she said there are various shortages on all kinds of components. For example: the Wireless N card was showing as 11 day delay.
She said they are trying to get mine out before Aug 17th, but it's not a definate so they gave me the ESD of Aug 28th.

 

My ESD was august 23 but i am now in boxing so with a little luck might get it sometime next. But it feels good to know after watching many videos of dell's factory that my pc is sitting somewhere on the conver belt and going thru the entire factory I am just picturing the system rolling thru the different stages

 

UltimateIdiot, I ordered the -exact- same system as you, at least the specs you listed. I did order 8 days before you though. But my system went into testing today. I think a lot of the Blue 1520's are going into testing/boxing today, from order dates all through July.

 

Mtylejr, I called and mine is in boxing stage on almost an exact system that I placed on 7/5. There's hope for us finally! This sucks for me though because I'm leaving for a vacation on Monday and have next day shipping. I doubt they ship on Saturdays? Nobody will be home to receive the package if it arrives Monday/Tuesday...
