    XPS won't be upgraded that soon. I figure it will probably be upgrade in the next couple of months. I think the next upgrades that are suppose to be released are the Latitude series.

    I can't remember exactly which video card the M170 has, but I think they'll upgrade it to a newer card.

    Personally, I would get it just if you plan on doing heavy multi -tasking (like using your laptop to watch and record TV) or play games. If you just do simple multi-tasking like websurfing while listening to music, or only a few programs open at once, then the M170 might be better.

    It also depends on if you want to stay current with the technology changes or not.

    The e1705 would probably be the best way to go. If you want, you can fill out the 'What should I buy? FAQ' listed at the top of the 'What should I buy?' forum. If you're open more choices besides Dell. We can help recommend some more models suited to you're needs.

    @Southern Girl & gridtalker

    Are you "sure" that the Core Duo XPS won't be released in March? Or you are just guessing? If you are sure, I wil order my 9400 right now. I won't wait more than March for the new XPS.

    Thanks,
    Sam

    The buzz from people within Dell is that there won't be a DC XPS for a while. Too bad, if there were I could probably wait for it.

    Patience... I need more of it. (now!)

    None of us are sure becuase Dell doesn't release that info to the public, and if anyone was sure they would be under NDA.

    I'm just saying that there hasn't been any sign of them releasing in March. Considering the latitudes were suppose to be release in february but looks like it got pushed back to March/April, I don't think the XPS will be updated soon.

    There is a 16-day delay in shipping of 9400/e1705!(if you want Go7800 card) It seems that we should wait until April for a 17-inch anyways.
