m1210 Manufacturing City

I was wondering if anyone who has a m1210 could please tell me the city where the m1210 is manufactured, based on the shipping label on your box or the online tracking info?

My system is supposed to ship on the 18th, and I'd like to be able to predict how long it will take after that.

All of dell's laptops are made in Malaysia, then sent to Tennessee from there. Generally dell over estimates your shipment date, so they can allow for any problems that might occur.

Also, boxing will take about 3 days, so don't panic. Dell labels the Boxing period as the time your laptop is traveling from Malaysia to here.

 

I ordered mine on the fourth and today (7th) it has shipped.

 

I ordered mine on the 3rd of Jul and mine also was shipped today, I just looked at the progress, and it is in TN. I wonder how long it will take to get to FL???
Man I sure hope my XPS 1210 is worth the wait

Boxing time - thanks for clarifying what that actually is SG. I was so confused that "boxing" took from Wednesday till today. My order finally says "In transit to local carrier," so I guess it has finally made it to the U.S.

 

Not sure what the ground linehaul is. My guess is that dell does a generic label - where it lists either their Tennessee location or possibly their Texas location from where it is coming from, but that address might be for return purposes only (aka you refuse to accept shipment).

Your welcome theorem. That is a common question on our forums, and I was just like you. When my system shipped, I couldn't figure out why in the world it was taking so long.

 

Can shipment status update during non-business hours? (My status currently says "In transit to local carrier" - is it possible that will change over the weekend, or will the status only change on Monday?)

I hope so because I am in transit as well for my XPS 1210. I thought that UPS worked on saturdays but I have also heard the opposite. I would tend to think that right now its at the ups center but not officially in the system yet. If their open tommorrow then it will probably be updated tommorow morning. Either way it wont take long. I also live in florida and I am expecting it wed. or thursday.

 

I just checked and now I have a tracking number so you should as well.

 

I was expecting mine today, since I ordered 10 days ago, not here, so It should be in my hands on monday. I do think UPS works on saturday, if so ill have mine on monday.

 

anything about Purolator? said my order would be by monday, any hopes of them delivering it earlier?

 

Yea I am really not sure if they work on saturdays. I know they have a saturday pickup arrangement.

I'm not sure about Purolator. From what i've heard, they attempt to deliver it once, and if you are not there, then you have to go pick it up.

Yes UPS does work on Saturdays, but they don't deliver laptops on Sat. At least, i've never seen them deliver a laptop on a Sat.

 

whoopie ! I did just the same. It says shipped on the order tracking, but I don't think it actually touches UPS until tomorrow. Cause my XPS400 said shipped but I didn't get the Shipping email from Dell until the next day. I hope we get our notebooks in perfect condition. I'm glad a lot of people at NBR used the EPP coupon.

 

As far as UPS delivering early, from my experience that is the exception. Unlike Dell, UPS sticks VERY well to thier published schedule. I am in the same bind, Tuesday will not come fast enough.

 

I ordered my notebook on June 30th, received it Thursday night, July 6th.

 

I dont think UPS works on saturdays anymore because I checked my tracking number and it is still in nashville where it was last night.

 

I thought they still did, but I could be wrong. Normally everything I ordered is shipped by UPS and seems to get moved from one location to another over the weekend. Then again, it has been a year since i ordered a laptop.

Yours might not move until monday since that is where Dell is located. I don't know how back logged the Nashville location gets since that is where dell is located.

the estimate date was july 10th today. i got the reciept emailed and now it came in slow mail.

Well like I said I was expecting mine today, but no. The **** printer is out of stock, so its going to be delayed untill friday now. My notebook was done last friday, it sat there all weekend waiting for the printer, and its still going to wait untill friday to be here. Im so pissed.

 

wow that sucks is it possible for me to just go down to the depot and pick it up? it says its in Toronto so it should be pretty close.

 

Purolator is the largest shipping company in Canada.

 

My M1210 is now "En Route." I don't think that Dell is only located in Tennessee because the origin scan for my notebook is in Patrick, NV.

That would be awesome! I'm still trying to decide on a case. I'm edging towards the "case-pc" sleeve ( www.case-pc.com --- it's the only case they sell). But your review of the DR MO would really effect my decision.

Hmm.. I find myself being ridiculously obsessive over checking the shipments. Anyway, more delays for my M1210. It has been rescheduled for the 12th. Oh I forgot to list the specs of my M1210. It is a 6 cell, sorry to those 9 cell guys. But I will try my best to tell you guys how well it fits the 6 cell and if it can expand.

man its good to see some anxious guys like me. the wait is killing me, god knows will i be alive to see my notebook once its delivered.
mine's been invoiced and the delivery schedule will be loaded tomorrow, they say any time this week now!

I would say the absolute latest they would come is 8 pm. Basically they will come before it gets totally dark and thats an extreme.

Yea mine came today but it was shipped to my parents house because I live on campus and my parents dont trust my mail system (I have lost lots of mail). So I have to drive a few hours to my parents house to retrieve it and I wont have time until Friday.
