    Dell put a new mother board in my laptop yesterday and i was just wondering what it controls. thanks

    Yeah like s4iscool said, short answer is everything. The processor, memory, hard drive, graphics, usb, drives, audio, etc, etc, etc all connect and run off it. Thats why its called the "mother" board. Without it you have nothing but a pile of usless parts.

    yeah, think of it like this, the case is like a skin, the mobo is the skeleton, and the cpu,gpu,ram,drives etc are all organs
