Now that Vista is available, has anyone successfully upgraded from XP on an m1210? I don't want to start from scratch with a clean Vista install and was wondering if there were any noticeable drawbacks to upgrading. Also, what drivers should I be concerned with?

    Here is my config:
    T2600 @ 2.16 GHz
    2 GB RAM
    100 GB 7400 RPM
    256 MB GeForce 7400

Oh, it is available right now. It is called RTM, released to manufacturer, and I installed it on my desktop computer. Works great, just need to get better drivers. Only problem is that I have 2 days to activate it until I cannot completely use the OS. Microsoft and their WGA  .

Yes available, only pirated copies. Anyways if you upgrade now there will be a 30day activation period. There are hacks available to reset the limit, but still, better use XP as primary. Install it as a separate installation (dual boot)

I highly suggest you do a clean install, os upgrades ALWAYS have drawbacks, and they will always be more severe upon intial release, either way. if you lay vista on top of xp, do a full back of your important files, cause more than likely your going to need them, I'd also suggest investing in another hd to try out vista, you can get them for 100 bucks or less depending on speed/size, and wait till the first service pack is issued before making it your primary os, there will be growing pains, and an hd swap takes less than 2 minutes on the m1210
