I have updated my video card with the latest patch off the Dell website. I've been having problems with brightness in games. In particular, CS Source and BF2142 (demo). When I'm in a dark area, it gets too dark and it's hard to see anything.

However, when I'm using word/ surfing net, brightness is fine.

Can anyone shine some light (ho hum) on this issue please?

    thanks

I haven't played computer games in a long time, but if I remember correctly, a lot of games have a brightness slider in them, in the options menu. Gamma. Some games will have the charm stripped away from them with too much brightness (like Thief, Thief II).

You might also increase the screen brightness via the Fn keys. I am guessing you already know that, though.
