hi there, for some reason no sound is coming out of the speakers nor from the headphone jack.. i look into device manager and it says the sigamatel codec is working fine and it is definiteky not muted. I wonder if the sound card is busted or whatever. much appreciated thank you

P.S it was working in the evening =( and it all of a sudden stopped working when i tried to watch videos on youtube at night =(

if you have bluetooth installed it sometimes installs bluetooth audio device if it does just switch it back to sigmatel hd audio in the sounds applet in control panel if you do not have bluetooth you might try reinstalling the audio driver

I have a similar thought to jim6172, except I don't think it is bluetooth. If you go into the control panel and into Sound and Audio Devices (I assume you are running Windows XP Media Center?) Under the Audio tab, what does it say for teh Default Audio device? Does it even see one present?

Also have you rebooted since the problem started?
