Aside from weight which it would feel heavier, the 9 cell sticks out the bottom and lifts the laptop off the desk. It looks kind of ugly in my opinion but some people like it and say it makes the laptop have a better typing angle.

From memory I think like 9oz. You do the math. I do know a 9 cell is about 6hrs and 6 cell is about 4hrs for what it is worth.

I have a 9-cell and feel the laptop is very heavy for its size. I didn't get the desired weight savings going from a 15.4" to a 13.3" but do get better battery life. If I had a scale I'd tell you how much it weighs. I asked the same question in the XPS M1330 owners thread.

It is noticably heavier. It does look a little ugly, but makes the system much more ergonomic to use, and increases airflow by raising the back of the laptop.
Personally though, I think the 9 cell is a must for this system. Anyone buying this is obviously looking at portability, and with that should come good battery life....

I'd rather keep the nice small form factor of the m1330, and just get an additional 6-cell to keep in the laptop bag in case I need it.

    In total, I'd have more battery capacity than 1 x 9 cell with 2 x 6 cells.

Definitely get the 9 cell if it's not too much. Better ergonomics, cooling, battery life and easier to use on your lap.

    Hi,
The main difference between the 6 and 9 cell is the amount of cells within the battery and the length of battery life. The 9 cell is highly recommended for travelers, and the 6 cell are for those that are always near a power source. Unfortunately, as with any battery, the more cells it has, the larger and heavier it will be.

Personally, I'd go with 9 cell. Even if the 6 cell isn't being used, it's still losing cycles unless you keep it in the freezer. I hope you're not living anywhere with high temps.
