When ordering my m1330, the rep said that the 200gb drive was not available. He said the wait would be months. Seeing that days later the 200gb option is still on the website, I'm begining to doubt him.

The rep also said there was an issue with the internal Bluetooth option.

Has anyone ordering the m1330 via the phone had a similar experience?

I suspect the Bluetooth issue may be a related to a combination of options. Did you get Wireless N and a cellular modem card?

Bluetooth and Wireless N - ship date pushed out to 8/22. I'd like to change from 160 to 200gb drive. Currently 160.

Ouch...glad I wasn't set on getting Wireless N. 8/22 is when I have to be at college. That's a Lenovo-esque delay. The base M1330 ship date is really late though - August 10 already. That much of a delay would be enough to make me buy something else (already was planning on Inspiron anyways though).

As of right now, I see a 200 GB 7200 RPM hard drive option. No 200 GB 5400 RPM option though.

I asked the rep I was working with for an update. He said he had been given incorrect info. While he could not add the 200gb 7200rpm drive to the build, they were available and could be added manually.

He also fixed the bluetooth issue and the ship estimate is still showing as 7/21-8/1 (he said he sees a range, rather than a single date).

I think in the end, rather than using the DELL supplied Hitachi 200gb 7200rpm, I'll probably end up buying a Western Digital 250gp 5400rpm drive ($189 from Newegg). The performance specs are very similar and as an extra bonus, I would wager that the 5400rpm drive produces less waste heat.

I would recommend that you not change the build unless you really want a September ship date :)

September ship date is ridiculous :(
