    Hi guys'

Just letting you know i'm from OZ and my m1330 is coming finally.

But i want to upgrade the ram to 4gb and i know you guys been talking about Crucial 4gb version, which unavailable in Australia.

All i can find is Corsair or Kingston, and i can get Kingston for about AU$145 each 2gb Ram. Corsair about AU$209 each 2gb ram.

Can anyone tell me if the Kingston one will be Compatible with it? I read somewhere on it's site that if i put 4gb it'll downgrade it to 3.5gb ram.

    Please help and suggest. thanks.

    Cheers

Kingston will be fine. I've had pretty good luck with their ValueRAM in the past. Just make sure it's DDR2-667 SO-DIMM.

Windows will only be able to use ~3.5GB of RAM if you run a 32 bit OS and the rest will be allocated for mapping of video RAM, PCI addresses, etc. It's an architectural thing with 32 bit OSes.

if you install 64bit vista you will be able to use all of it though. personally though, i would go with corsair, from my experience, they have always worked fine in dells.
