tomarrow im calling to finally place my order (got the quote setup..just need to cancel old one) - iv got the 9 cell right now..but i just wonder how annoying it will be sticking out like that @ an incline..thus should i go with the 6 cell and get $30 back?
and and im also debating about the finger reader![]()

well 9 cell will definitely give you more juice. Do you mind the incline? personally i don't , if you do and don't mind less power get hte 6 cell.
There is a high demand for the m1330. if you change your battery option after you place your order, Dell may put your order back of the line. -

haha well aug 13? u ordering in state? cuz canada my date looks like aug 27 making me feel like canceling my order ><
-
if you get the 6 cell does that mean it won't have that stupid bump at the end of the laptop where the keyboard/monitor meet?
-
yes thats correct

It partly depends on if you really need the extra juice and if you don't mind the extra weight and incline.
Right now i have a notebook with a battery that sticks out like the m1330's, and in my personal experience i can say that the incline is not bad at all (when on a flat surface). The bulging battery may be annoying or uncomfortable to some when notebook is on their lap. Further, the battery might add a considerable amount of weight (my 15.4" notebook feel like it weighs as much as 17"... take into account though that my big battery is a 12 cell and is for a much bigger notebook than the m1330). Because of this weight though, my laptop can at times be a bit annoying to lug around campus. Other than that, its pretty nice watching others at school flock to the outlets while i can sit through a 2:45 minute class w.o. a problem (mind you this battery is nearly 2 yrs old; it used to give me 4+ hrs).
Now, the m1330--i would imagine--could get somewhere around 3 hours with the 6-cell (considering you get the LED--if that makes much of a difference... and even more the intel graphics, etc.). Just ask yourself, "will i need more than 3 hours? Will the extra weight bother me?"
I ordered the m1330 w/the 6-cell. I personally have had enough of my huge, heavy, bulging battery. All i care for now is sleek and light (and a minimum of 2+ hrs). -
my e1505 gets 5 hours on a 9cell, how much could the m1330 get on a 6 cell?
internet explorer, ms word are programs that would be used.
Can you buy an extra battery? -
No one has done official battery tests yet (besides cNet with their DVD test that lasted a little more than 2.5? hours). Once the m1330's get released (shipping for m1330's starts today) ... we can do our own (unscientific) battery tests.
... and i'm sure you can buy an extra battery in a few weeks. -
I ordered a 6 cell but im also going to get a 9 cell. The bump has grown on me.
I've seen the notebook enough times now to realize it isnt that disgusting to look at. -
Battery test would be one of the best things for new owners to run for the rest of us
If the 6-cell nets ~3hr at half brightness with general computing (word, web, email, wifi, bt), it'll be more than enough for me.
I have a feeling that's just a tad optimistic though. -

9 Cell~5 hours, I'd say.. Would be nice not to have to worry about battery running out.. I might order a 6 cell later on, though, if the 9 cell bothers me too much. Doesn't look very bad, but I guess it wouldn't fit in any standard sleeve.

Seriously, if Dell straightened out the battery, threw in a docking port at the bottom, and squeezed in a WXGA+ screen, I'd be in heaven. But as long as we're in fantasyland, they should shoe-horn an 8600GT in as well -
if the m1330 weight 1.79 kg with 4 cell battery what would be is weight with 9 cell battery?

A straight extended battery is out of the question with that hinge design.. I guess I can live with a bump.... Plus I like the better airflow underneath...
