Hi there I am having troubles getting the Motorola s9 headset working well with the onboard bluetooth with my new m1330.

    OS: Vista Ultimate 64bit
Bluetooth stack: Dell Widcomm r140135 release

    Problem:

The headset is *working* however it is with extremely limited range... i have to literally have my head within 2 feet of the notebook...range extends slightly further, maybe 4 feet if I am facing away from the laptop, any other position and it skips, sputters etc.

I use the dell bluetooth travel mouse and it works from a decent range, and i have read many reports of this headset getting above average reception... so is this a driver problem?

Can anyone here verify getting the s9 headset to work with the onboard bluetooth at an acceptable level

    Any tips advice?

I disabled the windows bluetooth service already, didnt make a difference.

headset has to be within 2 feet to work properly.

First for the S9's to work correctly in stereo/music mode your bluetooth needs to support A2DP, if your mouse works fine tho at range my best guess is that you simply have a bad pair of S9's should be easy enough to test you have to know somebody that has bluetooth on a phone/device or maybe even have another one yourself.

Yes the bluetooth module is 2.0 edr ...supports A2DP

It works crystal clear...just has to be within 2 feet lol

Anyone else experience this problem? I wonder if it is to do with vista 64

I seriously doubt its a OS issue, its most probably hardware.

Have you tested it on an alternate source yet?

I was having issues with mine but on the XPS 1530, it would pair with my S9 but would not keep the link. I needed to use a pairing code I supply during setup, which is 0000. Not sure if this helps but got mine going.
