I'm trying to overclock my m1330's nVidia card in Vista using rivatuner. I've noticed that every time I try to change the core or the memory clock settings, hit apply, and then hit ok, to get out of that screen, before it closes the settings always go back to default. Does anyone know about how to fix this? I'm heading off to bed now, but hopefully I can get some feedback.

You have to install the nvstrap driver and enable driver lever overclocking.

Also it may be the drivers that you're using. Try fetching and installing the 158.36 drivers off laptopvideo2go

Ok, got it working with the 158.36 drivers off laptopvideo2go. Now, if you managed to overclock with another set of drivers, could you post them here? I'm going to putz around with this a bit longer to see if I can get newer drivers on this.

I've managed to get the drivers working up to 160.03. At around 162.xx the driver won't let me overclock anymore.

Also, now that I'm overclocking, I've noticed that this card runs hot. Even when I don't overclock, I find that the card will drop into 3d low power to cool itself down, which basically drives it to a halt and probably gives it a 3dmark05 of around 1000 or less. It's Idle at 70 degrees and drops down at 104 degrees.

I wouldn't be so sure about the accuracy of the temperature readings just yet as well. I think the 1330 is supposed to overclock better than the 1420. BTW, 158.36 is a better driver to overclock with even though the number 160.xx is higher.

I've tried the 158.36 version and found there is an issue with standard performance...eg, default 3dmark05 was around 2500, though this may be from the downclocking.

I'm not using ATITool beta to overclock it because it's a bit easier to use, also, I found that you have to adjust all three clock parameters (2d, 3d low, 3d high) to prevent the gpu from shutting off...it shuts off when it goes into 2d performance which happens at 106 C indicated. Again, I think you're right that the temp might be reading wrong and causing the drivers to downclock prematurely.

Also, yes, this card can really overclock, though I don't dare yet. It does seem to peak at a temp close to 106.

I need to find out what the actual temp is on this guy.
