I have a strange problem with the headphones that came with my m1330. When I use the headphones with my m1330, there is a loud hissing sound whether music is playing or even when nothing is playing. It is very annoying to say the least. I tried using these headphones on my ipod and on my girlfriend's sony sz and there is no hiss. I have also tried using another pair of in-ear earphones with the m1330, and no hiss. It makes no sense to me. Anyone else experience this, or anyone able to shed light on this?

Is it just one or both headphone connectors?

I get minor hiss on the left one (as many have reported), the right jack is fine.

I get a lot of hissing on the left one, and a bit less on the right one. It is still too much to be able to listen to music comfortably.

Hi guys, been trying to fix this myself for a bit. The latest audio drivers available on Dell's web site fixed all my hiss problems and also removed the sound stutter when watching dvds.

The setup program will first remove the old drivers, then reboot at which point it may or may not install the new ones (didn't on mine, was left with default vista intel hd audio driver), so you would need to replace this with the new driver.

    Hope this helps, Si

Better still, *** up your setup by opting for a good set of folding, 'wrap-around' Bluetooth headphones. Not only will this eliminate hiss (and cables) immediately, but the built in mic supplied on many models can also be used for your IM'ing... and with your mobile phone. (Great if you use your mobile phone as your mp3 player too.)

I've never looked back personally. Neither will you... so long as you opted for Bluetooth of course. :)

    Need a recommendation? Sony DR-BT21G.
