I am really digging the Vostro 1400 keyboard. Alas, m1330 here I come. But are these the same keyboards? I think that they are rock solid.

don't kick me...but I actually think my friend's Acer keyboard is better than M1330 keyboard...hmm...maybe I'm just used to typing on her laptop...it feels weird on M1330...I keep typing things wrong!!

It could be a different keyboard size.

Also people have been posting that different manufacturers for the Dell keyboards have different build qualities, one being noticeably different than the other. This is just from what people are saying though, not personal experience since I don't have another one to compare with.

Here is a side-by-side picture of both the Inspiron 1420 and the XPS m1330. They use the same keyboard. Although I did notice some keyboard flex on the XPS m1330 (sadly). And the same keyboard on the 1420 seems rock solid.
