Just got a new m1330 today with the Nvidia 8400. GPU temp is running at 75 degrees while only using Firefox. Is this bad? I was connected to my external monitor through HDMI and that seemed to make the fan noisier, but even now with the monitor disconnected the fan is constantly on.

The fan is constantly on... New bios and driver updates have been released to prevent the cards from dying due to thermal issues. 75°C is quite high, but also quite normal for the m1330. You should get worried if it's above 85 when idling.
These temps are by far not normal for a notebook and that gpu, but they are normal for the m1330.
If you want to have lower temps (or at least read lower temps, don't know if drivers really can lower temps, although I personally say yes), you can use the 167.45 nvidia drivers from www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum. THey are old, but give an idle temp around 60.
If you're worried about your temps, you can check the udervolting guide which in your case (single heatpipe for cpu and gpu) will help. ( http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us)
PS: I own a m1330, I know all about the hot temps -
