I have ordered m1330 on August 6th with ship date of sept 14., but sadly still in built stage  Anyways it comes with memory that is 667mhz, but the processor has 800mhz front side bus, so i was wondering if i buy memory that's 800mhz how much gain in performance will I see? I do a lot of video editing using after effects and such.

Also in the future say when bluetooth 3.0 comes out, can i manually install it and replace the current 2.0 card that comes with it?

    Thanks

No...the system is restricted to 667mhz and cannot be upgraded.

And with respect to a bluetooth upgrade, most likely.

Santa Rosa only supports up to DDR2-667 memory. Any faster and it gets automatically downclocked. The Core architecture doesn't require very fast memory to achieve good performance. There's also no need to run the FSB and RAM in sync.

As long as the Bluetooth 3.0 module uses the same interface as the existing ones, you'll be fine. But until modules come out, it's tough to do anything other than guess at that.

Next in line is BT 2.1 which is the Dell TrueMobile 360 module. You can buy that on eBay, it is the same size as 350 & 355 so it will fit snugly under the XPS logo on the M1330, its very easy to install

OOOH thank you!! Just what I was looking for!! I just feel like if I am wasting almost 2200$ to get the top of the line laptop, why not spend few extra to add the latest tech!!

I really really wish m1330 had blu-ray option!!!! Now that would really be icing on the cake!!

OOOOHH and by the way my system moved in to the testing stage!!!! SOOO hopefully it ships sooon! Any one have any ideas how long does it take from testing to shipping?! I have next day delivery!

    Thanks!

By the way, RAM is dual channel (two identical modules accessed alternately) so actually it is twice as fast as one might think.

are you sure? I don't think it does! If it does then AHHHHHH!!!!!!!! because my order just went to testing! I wanted one with blu-ray!! But i am 110% sure they don't have blu-ray option on m1330s.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I have yet to see a blueray option in this system; I would have grabbed that!
