Does anybody know if it is possible to map your own keys on the remote? If I could change some of them to suit my needs that would really improve the remote's functionality a hell of a lot. Let me know if anyone has any idea.

The remote buttons do the same things as media buttons. Many media button functions can be achieved through a Fn + another key (though I haven't taken the time to figure them out on my XPS, just on my Inspiron), and it it possible to remap keys in Windows XP and Windows Vista. What kinds of functions are you looking for? Opening a program?

If I wanted to do this for myself, I'd remap one of the remote buttons (you'd have to figure out what keys its sending) to another set of keys, then write a simple VB app that will listen for those keys and do your task when it hears them.

I suspect someone has an easier way to do this.

The main thing I would like to do is have greater control in the Slingplayer program. I am unable to fast forward or use the select button on my tivo control that is built into the program from the Dell Remote Control.
