So I connected my m1330 to my 40" TV (via HDMI) and parts of the screen have been cut off.

I presume that this has to do with the resolution stuck at 1280x800.

    Any means of resolving this?

    Thanks.

If you have the nVidia graphics, which I presume you do, check in the nVidia Control Panel (right-click on an empty area of your desktop, then select it in the popup menu) to ensure that you have the correct resolution set for the TV, and that it is detecting the correct cable type (HDMI) between the card and the TV.

I only have one cable (ie the HDMI) and the max res I can set is that of the notebook. Any means of resolving this? I will try again just to be sure.

    Thanks.

It sounds to me as if you are cloning the original screen instead of treating the TV as a seperate external entity with it's own resolution.

In which case, the only output you will be able to see is your replica desktop in WXGA.

'Dual view' is the option that I believe you are looking for. To be found in the Nvidia settings.

Looks like I made that mistake... Will use dual view.

    Thanks a lot!
