just doing a bit of testing..
if im sitting, browsing the web plugged into AC
with 9 cell my temp is 44/45C
with 6 cell my temp is 36/78C

amazing how much of a difference having about an anch below the notebook makes, so it can suck in air!

ill run some more tests at load..and update this thread after i do!

good stuff for M1330 or M1530 potential buyers to know... it's got to make a pretty big difference to have a clear path for airflow...

So this sounds like we should defenitelly get a T8xxx or T9xxx CPU when buying a new laptop? This sounds like a big advantage over the older T5xxx and T7xxx.

yep super huge advantage...not to mention more battery life, and faster chip all around

    makes the t7300 feel like a p4 :p

How much more battery life in both cases? I tried a non-LED screen M1330 version at a store (6 cells and fully charged) and, setting power saver mode and screen all the way down, I had a 5 hours estimate on vista... not bad.

Can someone tell me the maximum battery endurance when setting saver mode + lowest screen brightness?

Thanks d94, I'm sold for a Penryn in my next buy. I specced a Lenovo T61 with T9300 for 1400 CAD... tempting. Unfortunately, an M1330 with that comes at 1999 CAD at the moment : [

My m1330 runs at about 40-50C on AC. around 35-40C on Battery (since I limit the speed).
When I run the WEI, CPU temps can reach 60C.

Seems a bit hot for Penryn..

I want to know if anyone with the Penyrn processor feels that their machine is cooler to the touch, not just with processor temps? I asked before (different thread) but no one seemed to feel it was cooler to the touch. Much thanks, Yasmine
