    CPU whine?
If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, then no it will not damage your notebook.

You can download the RMClock Utility to fix this problem.
Read And here comes that dreaded C2D buzz... for more information.

With the RMClock, whats the disadvantage of using it? Will it 100% get rid of the whine noise?

My M1330 tend to freeze when using the RMClock, not sure if it 100% due to the CPU tweaking, however I'm still looking for a better solution, if any :(

any of your advice is much apprecaited.

Well from what I read the beta of RMClock caused a few problems to many users. Apparently the latest version fixes a lot of issues and works very nicely. I'm not sure how bad it is on the battery but I heard it wasn't that bad.

Best way to test it out is to get it yourself, try it out for a little while (and see how much battery life you get out of your notebook using RMClock) and then decide if you want to keep it or not.
I myself only get the whine when I run on the battery and I'm almost always running off AC power. So it's not really an issue for me.

Thibault is right, the whine only happens when you use battery.

and, after I checked "disable C4" in RMclock, then clicked "apply" the whine disappeared immediately..

about how much battery does it drain, i haven't compare
