I heard it is only available to business... why is this?

Also is there any way to order 1520 through business? Can it use T7700?

I was just on with a Dell rep in web chat and I asked about the T7700 on the M1330 among other things. The rep indicated that processor options are dictated by the marketing department and there is nothing they can do about it in home and home office. At the end of the conversation the rep promised to forward my concern to marketing so that they would perhaps offer the T7700 sooner. :)

Maybe it will be available in September when the prices of Intel processors drop.

It used to be available in France too and now it isn't anymore. I do have an order with one, I hope it'll go fine

It's not in the Federal EPP, highest is the 7500. Curious.

I'd bet you'll be fine. It's an expensive option and it is not all that popular, so I wouldn't worry about Dell running out or cancelling yours. I also ordered the m1330 with T7700 through my university offer, and it currently states it will be shipping on the 3rd of August.

Someone mentioned that Dell had said that the T7700 had compatibility issues with the M1330... anyone confirm this ??

Compatibility, or heat? I'd worry about the latter before the former, because the 7700 is merely a higher-clocked bin of the 7300/7500 right?

My university (US) has two customizable options - the "value edition" only goes up to the 7100 (1.8Ghz), the regular has the 7700 as a $575 option :O

Hmm, check out the CPU options: I wish Dell had this kind of choice for the other processors!

I might go with the 1.8 for now, and then do a manual upgrade to 2.2/2.4 when prices drop. Then again, I said the same thing about my PM Dothan, but Intel upgraded the platform the next year and prices never dropped.
