    Hello,

I havent had an opportunity to test out the mic yet so I decided to give it a shot today. I downloaded the latest version of Audicity (Audio recording software), installed it, and gave it a go.

Before trying the mic out, I made sure it was installed properly (Control Panel, sound, recording) and it was (as indicated with the green checkmark)

I opened up audicity and started out with a few simple ''Hello's''...and my voice sounded a bit funny. It sounded if I were 15 years younger.

So I plugged in my guitar to my guitar amp and recorded for about 10 seconds. The playback this time was messed up. It was screeching..and just disgusting on the ears.

In disbelief, I downloaded some shareware audio recording program thinking that it was a program with Audicity. The same problems occured...

What is up with this screeching and messed up noise I get with the microphone? Has anyone encountered this?

    Thank You,

    Brian

Is this the internal mics or a plugged in one? XP or Vista?

THeres a good chance that you have the gain turned up to high on the Mic. Try turning it down.
