I want to change for the BIOS settings video on my xps m1530 to a backlight of 6 when AC power is connected. I just hit F2 at the start up screen and selected Video. I then selected video ac and changed my settings and saved on exit.

For some reason though, it didn't apply my video settings even though I saved it on exit. Has anyone else experienced this?

On the Dell Support forum they suggested that I instead try to change the brightness settings in Vista rather than the BIOS, but I am trying to change the backlight settings and have it saved so I don't have to use the FN + Up or Down arrows.

For anyone that wants to make this adjustment and have Vista remember your backlight settings, I found an easier way which I obtained on the Dell Support forums:

    In Vista:

Go to Start > Control Panel > Mobile PC > Power Options. Then on the left pane, I clicked Adjust the display brightness.

Cool... I learned something new... you have rep!

I also didn't know you could adjust it in BIOS too?
