Hello,
I've decided to stick with this Samsung SEC 3350 monitor for my m1530 laptop. I was wondering if there is a specific driver available for it? In device manager it just says "Generic PnP MOnitor".
Under Display Settings --> advanced settings, it will not let me change the refresh rate to anything by 60 Hz. I thought there should be faster options. I read somewhere 75Hz is good.
Would appreciate any advice on this. I couldn't find any drivers on the net, on Samsung's website or through calling Dell XPS TEch Support (LOL, that was futile).
HOpe there are some people who really know what they are doing who might have tips/advice for optimizing my grainy samsung! (Other than return it for the LG! Tried that, no success, I'll take their incentive offer to just keep this thing cause it's not that bad really).

You generally don't have device drivers for embedded laptop screens. They appear as generic devices because that's essentially what they are, no matter who makes it.
There is no fix for the grain issue in Samsung LCD monitors. The grain artifact is a result of the surfacing material applied to the screens presumably to improve contrast on highly reflective surfaces. The severity of the effect, based upon various reports here and in other forums, varies greatly from barely noticeable to intolerable, and I've not seen anyone post any suggestions on how to mitigate it.
