I'm going to buy an m1530 in a couple of days and I just had a quick question. I want to upgrade from 1gb ram myself( much cheaper) and was wondering what is going to be more power efficient: 2gb or 4gb(I know 32-bit doesn't recognize 4, but I want dual channel). Also if 4gb drains more battery life, how much? I can live with a performance sacrifice if its going to drain too much battery.

    -Thanks

No, 4gb will be better on battery life as Vista can cache file in the ram instead of the hard drive.

The power consumption differences between 1, 2, and 4 gigabytes of RAM are too small to impact battery life at all. If anything, 4 GB would save the most power since it would keep your hard drive from repeatedly swapping to the page file.
