Are there two headphones jacks on the M1530? My headphones only work when plugged into the left one... I hear nothing with the right headphone jack (not the very most right one as that is a mic jack). Is this normal? Is it another jack of some type? Perhaps a configurable one or something? Thanks.

Darn it! One of my jacks doesn't work. Could a software driver be required to activate this other jack as a headphone output? I clean-installed Vista 64-bit.

Go into Control Panel > Hardware and Sound,

scroll right down to the bottom and you should see SigmaTel Audio. If you don't you need the drivers from Dell.

if you click on that, it will tell you what the jacks are currently configured for, and you can also change them.

No, I don't have that... I'll just assume that is why my 2nd headphone jack doesn't work. not a big deal, don't need it really anyway but wanted to know if it was defective.

Is there any good reason to install Dell's driver's? My audio seems to work decently enough and I don't need the 2nd headphone jack.

Oh yeah, I would need 64-bit Vista drivers.
