Hey! I got my m1530 week ago and i'm pretty happy about it :)

    2.2GHz, 3GB RAM, Seagate Momentus 7200.2 200GB HDD, 8600 GT 256 DDR3, WSXGA+ LPLF300 ;), DraftN, and so on... Running Vista Home Premium 32bit..

    Got some issues using NBC:

    1. SpeedStep doesnt seem to function. External and Internal Clock values always show the same 2195Mhz. I don't know if it's the problem or not, but seems weird. I would like to run 50% max on battery.

    2. PowerMizer control is disabled, maybe that's ok since i don't have ACPI settings for the system. Does anyone have ACPI settings for m1530 btw?

    3. If you have full battery and running on AC power, try to change "LCD brightness setting on AC line operation". No matter what you select from the list, screen is dimmed to whatever the value is in the edit for the full battery level (the one below). Then you can change the values in full battery level edit and screen will dim correctly as long as you don't select the value that's in ac line operation edit. You must change that one again and it just goes in circles. Its hard to describe this. Try it out! :)

I see many others use this program frequently (if for nothing else, for disk clicking sounds ;)) so i wanna know if you experienced any of these issues with your m1530 and NBC.

    Thanks!

Did a search and found this post and so I am resurrecting it instead of reposting same questions.

    1. I too am trying to control SpeedStep on my 1530 (with Notebook Hardware Control 2.0) and it isn't responding as the clocks always stay maxed. Any ideas on this?!

    2. I too am intersted in ACPI settings for the m1530 and if anyone has figured out a way to control fan speed manually.

    Thanks
(yay for the use of the search function!)

Bump... Cmon guys any ideas would really help, I can't be the only one that wants to control their fan and lower cpu clock for battery improvements. Atleast for the speedstep and fan control help would rock! Is it possible to modulate these or is this blocked by dell's stupid bios?

I can see this is an old post, but I found it looking for some feedback on this same subject. I have updated my notebook with SP1 for Vista H.P., and my Notebook Hardware Control is no longer able to switch the processor speed, and to handle the PowerMizer.

I guess SP1 takes control of the processor and NHC can't do anything about it. I'll try re-installing it and see what it does.
