Has any of you ran test with your 1530 to see if there is a difference in performance between AHCI and ATA?

    Here's what I did:

I had to switch to ATA to install XP. I tried to installed the AHCI driver ( http://downloadcenter.intel.com/det...All&OSFullName=All Operating Systems&lang=eng) but got a message that my machine didn’t meet the requirements.

I found some articles here on notebookreview on how to switch it back, and it seems a little complicated. Is there an advantage when switching to AHCI or should I continue to run in ATA mode?

The reason your machine probably didn't allow the installation of the ahci drivers was because you turned it off in BIOS (XP doesn't have default ahci drivers).
