Just recieved my m1530 last week, thanks in no small part to these forums :). Couple quick questions....

Question the 1st) the touch sensitive buttons that control the volume, it takes forever to change the volume significantly, i.e. hold it for 10 seconds to turn all the way down.. Is there any tweaks out there or work arounds to speed this up?

    2) My wireless switch on the side seems really flimsy. It works, its just kinda..well flimsy heh. Anyone else have this? I was thinking about opening it up and taking a look but if it works why bother. Thanks all.

yes it's kind of slow . I tried tapping on in rather than just keep touching it it was not a good idea. so I guess it's better to keep your finger on it until you get the level you want.

I'm looking for some way to make the touch buttons change the volume faster also. Any suggestions? Seems like this should be adjustable... just like the mouse speed is.

Make sure you have removed the plastic protective cover that is on it.

Is there an control whatsoever for these touch buttons (to do what I want or otherwise)? A control panel? Bios settings? Software?

I remember way back in about 2000, people complained about you could touch the power push-button on the Inspiron 7000 and it would power down. Dell made a bios update that made it like the modern PC behavior.... you need to hold the power button for like 3-5 seconds before it powers down.

If no one can point me in the direction of how to tune the volume button to my liking, I may ask Dell... and possibly rally some troops to get them to find a way to fix it... like a bios/control panel update.

Anything would be nice because it really is a pain. My only complaint about this computer is that miss having a rotary knob for the volume allowing me quick silencing of the volume.

Since the touch buttons are software based you cant change at the login screen so you get the vista music and login music, teachers no like hahaha.
