    m1530 wifi n speed issues

    Having problems with the wifi on my lappy, i am assuming that the drivers are not working correctly and most probably a V64 issue

    best speed i can get out of the wifi is 2.7MB/s which is pretty much wifi g speed

    - ive checked the router
    - installed new drivers
    - removed completely and reinstalled to no luck

    currently running
    - Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN: 11.5.0.32

    Wait, are you talking about your actual download speed is 2700 kilobytes/s or your connection is showing as 2.7Mbit?

    I'm running ver: 12.0.0.52, dated: 17/01/2008, with no problems, connect at 130Mbps+ on N, do a windows update (on Vista) to get the update.

    ^^ thanks for your idea, tried the windows update and it didnt come up?

    strange, must think its the latest version for some reason...

    is there a download location for it online?

    Having Wireless N wont make your actual downloads speeds faster than G since g also supports 2700 kbps it would only make it faster if your connection was higher than the G speed which is 54mb

    Looks like it was an accidental release of this driver version which is causing some problems with people who installed it... Personally I have zero problems with this new driver and find it more responsive than the previous version.

    i have a wireless n router, and i have a wifi n network card and the card is running at wifi g speed; i am sure its a driver issue as it is quite responsive and the range seams to be better than g

    still having issues with no luck, took the rear inspection plate off to check the wires and they all seam good, tried a different router i am guessing perhaps its a v64 issue, anyone else had any issues?

    So what speed is your net connection? Wireless N is only relevant for local traffic. i.e. copying files from one machine to another.

    Your downloading speed will be limited by your ISP which is most likely significantly less that Wireless G speeds, let alone wireless n.

    Assuming 2.7MB/s is Mega Bytes that you appear to have ~20 megabit connection.

    Assuming 2.7MB/s is mega bits then you have approx ~3 megabit connection.

    no its not a matter of the speed as much as the connection type some how its still defaulting to 54G speed when it should be connecting at wifi N
