I got my m1530 yesterday and I'm extremely happy with it except for one thing and that is it gets very warm at the top where I rest my hands. This is a bit annoying as it makes typing uncomfortable. Is this normal? Would getting a notebook cooler reduce the heat by a lot? It stays hot even though I'm not doing anything with it, just looking at documents.

I think it's commonly accepted that notebooks get quite heated up after 30 minutes in use. My 1530's fan cool periodically. Each time it does, it would get a lot cooler. And I haven't experienced the heat in the keyboard. It only gets hot around the touchpad and underneath.

most laptops get hot and the higher end the internal components, the more heat it will produce. Make sure your intake under the unit isn't blocked by say your leg or some other object as that will increase heat. I do have a chill pad but I typically only use it when gaming and it does help keep the heat down a bit.
