    The dell M6300 has a quadro fx 1600m. Two questions about that: Is it the same (with dif drivers) as the 8700gt, and is it modular, so that I could switch it out with a 8800gtx?

    It's the 8700M GT...

    Also, Dell use their own proprietary format, so you can put another card in this notebook only if Dell releases another option for it.
