im not really good when it comes to all the programming and upgrading stuff but i read and saw a video that some guy posted about his E1505 regarding about how when the laptop is closed and opened back and forth fast, it causes the monitor to freeze. then you have to restart it again. and i don't know about you, but sometimes i kinda notice this happening to mine. so anyway, he posted something about the problem and the it was due to the driver and in order to fix this, you just need to download a video driver from this site <http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df-external/Support_Intel.aspx?lang=eng> to to simply fix the problem.

i wanted to try it but being the newbie that i am:confused : , i don't know which one and where to start... so hopefully this could help all of us.

if any of this is true and if any of you guys has or will ever plan to try it out... do you mind if you can post how and which one to pick? and if did it help at all. thanks :)

If the laptop is set to Stand By every time the lid is closed, that could be a problem. What I would do is change it to do nothing when the lid is closed. Start, Control Panel, Power Options, Advanced, then under Power Options, change when you close the lid to Do Nothing.

Also, opening up the lid fast and closing it repeatedly is not good for the laptop.

The latest video driver directly from Intel seems to fix it.!! I tried opening and closing for 5 min and nothing froze!

Installing your video card driver is very simple. All you need to do is go to support.dell.com and click on Driver's & Downloads. From there, you'll enter your service tag number in. Then select your operating system. Scroll to the very bottom and you'll see a category called Video card Driver.

You'll need to install the one that corresponds with your system. If you aren't sure, check your packaging slip. Then you download & save the .exe file. Once it has completed downloading, you run the file. Keep everything default and it will self install itself.

It is very user friendly, so you shouldn't have any problems with it.
