So i'm hoping, counting my lucky stars that the studio 15 is able to run what i hope it can :D

So... heres the low down, i'm buying my first laptop ever, need it to be

    A. Big enough to type on comfortably on in class (i'm 6"6' i have big hands lol 13 inch too small i think)

    B. Fast enough so i can still have my fun time with games like WoW / Guildwars / Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 when released

    My fears come in with...

    1. The upgrade from the 2.0 Ghz processor to the 2.5Ghz is 300$ which well i dont really know if its worth it... Is it?

    2. The Ati 3450 Gpu, will that be enough to handle the games mentioned above smoothly??

    Currently i'm running and ANCIENT

asus 2800 mhz, 512 mb ram, 80 GB Hd

edit: forgot to mention i have no dedicated GPU in my current desktop

So anything i buy will be a huge improvement, but i still wonder is the GPU in the studio 15 enough to handle my minor future needs?

Thanks for any/all the help :D

WoW/Guildwars will both run maxed, with minimal if any lag (depends on your internet connection too). As for SC2 and D3, you can't really tell at this point. But based on previous Blizzard games, they should run on any computer made in the past 5 years. And even if they're graphically demanding, you'll still probably be able to play them at medium detail. But again, no one really knows at this point.

Also, if you're buying it before the 2nd of August, buy it through this link: http://configure.us.dell.com/dellst...n&s=dhs&cs=19&kc=features~laptops_great_deals

You'll save around 340$. But only until Aug 2nd.

EDIT: Odd, seems they changed the deal. When I bought mine last week, I got 390$ off. Still a pretty good deal anyway.

i think i would jump all over that deal but silly DELL doesnt believe us canadian citizens deserve the same savings our brothers to the south get.

The studio 15 up here STARTS at 799 with BASE stats, but 150$ more gets the maxed 4 gb ram with the GPU upgrade, so its not too bad, but still, share the love dell, canucks need some discount lovin too

Harsh, man. You could always have a friend in the states order it for you. But then getting it across the border might cost you more than you'd save anyway. :(

a 10 pound package from somewhere in Northern Eastern USA like New York state, Pennsylvania, even Maryland/ DC to the GTA area only costs around 30-35 bucks from fedex
