i ran into a problem when i was trying to fix the choppy dvd playback on my e1505 using the media center. I believe i deleted the registry on the dvd drive. Now when i play a dvd on the media center there is no sound. When i go to the audio options, it says "not designed for media center" , "the audio properties dialog is not designed for viewing from a distance or for remote control interaction." ANy help on how to correct this problem?? I did a system restore and it still dosent fix it
    thanks for any help

You might need to reinstall the driver from the recovery discs or you could go to dell support site and search for them - if you log in and have your tag number it should direct you to the appropriate driver.

Before you reinstall your driver, go to your control panel and look at your system's device manager and see if there are any of your devices drivers are missing. It does not sound like you deleted the entire sound registry but rather a portion of it (what makes you think you did?). I presume you have checked all sound settings and make sure you do not have an alternative program controlling your sound settings or have installed any new program that might.
