    i have e1505, x1400, 1.83 core duo, 60gb 7200rpm.
i formatted and reinstalled xp MCE altering the partition sizes and deleting the dells partition with factory settings.
now i am not able to start media center.the error that is getting displayed is:

    "ehshell.exe-common language runtime debugging services

application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
    process id=0x684(1668), thread id=0xa88(2696)"

can anyone help me with this.

Common Language Runtime is part of .NET Framework.

have you got the latest service packs, updates from Microsoft?
have you got the latest updates from DELL?

then check if you have the Microsoft .NET Framework installed ...

search for it on Microsoft's download site and reinstall if necessary.

Have you reinstalled Sonic Burning and PowerDVD after the reformat as I'm thinking of doing the same thing?
