I searched, but came up with nothing. help please!

I formated and even erased the hpa on my xps m1210. reinstalled win xp mce, setting aside enough space unallocated for mediadirect. reinstalled mediadirect. It didn't work well at first (freezing on first run, with picture appearing upside down). Now it works fine. pressing the button in windows would start media center. Now pressing the mediadirect button from within windows does absolutely nothing! I would like to get that function back. I've googled with no success at finding an answer. Any thoughts???
