I reformated my1705 and downloaded drivers from dell.com

now in device manager I see a yellow question mark next to "other device", under that 2 other question marks. One says "ethernet controler" and the other is "modem device on high definition audio bus"

what are these? and where can I find the drivers.

my computer runs fine, except I cant control audio volume in games like oblivion.

I greatly appreciate all comments and help ;)

Did you try Windows Update? Plugging your service tag into Dell's website driver page should get you all the drivers you require.

Download the chipset driver on Dell's website and install it. The ethernet is either the Broadcom ethernet controller or the Wireless controller. Try both, Windows will tell you if its the correct one or not for the specified device. This should take care of the remaining missing devices.

You're missing the Ethernet and Modem driver. Install both of them. Make sure you install the Dell Notebook System Software as well.
