I just received a 1505 for my wife. 1st thing I did was wipe and reformat the hard drive. Evreything seems to be working properly but in device manager it shows I have missing drivers. Any idea what I am missing? Screen shot included.

Just to add, I did download all the latest drivers from dell's website. But I still cannot figure out what driver I am missing? Or what hardware is not working? All is says is "base system device"?

Does it say System Base? If so thats used for the Media Card Reader. Had the same issue. Look for chipset drivers on the d/l patch I think its called Rioch or something.

Yeah, I think it's the Ricoh driver for SD card/Memory stick.

I forgot all about the cardreader. I'll report back when I get the chance to download and install the driver. Thanks for the tip.

As a side note: the E1505 seems to be a solid laptop. Now I want one, lol.

That was it. The Ricoh R5C832 driver was under "Chipset" so I only downloaded the Intel mobile chipset driver thinking the Ricoh driver was for some other type of chipset.
I installed the Ricoh R5c832 driver and all hardware is now accounted for in device manager. Thanks for the help.

So, you had to download both drivers? The Intel and the Ricoh, correct?

correct, Intel is vital for the system and needs to be installed first. Ricoh is for the card reader only from what I know

I called Dell support and the tech told me the Ricoh driver wasn't necessary, but if you don't install it you'd see the yellow mark in device manager, so it's definately recommended.
