Well, since Dell said 16gb ram would not work in this machine, and it is working fine. I am going to try 64gb of ram. See what happens. I am interested in seeing what comes out of it. Will it default to 16gb only? who knows.

Interestingly, my 13 7386 has the RAM soldered to the MB so I have no upgrade option. It seems that since your on UEFI and windows 64Bit that if 16 is working for sure 32 would work or 64, however, will the sticks actually fit with that many chips on them? Im thinking your RAM is like most notebooks and is horizontal on the MB rather than vertical like on desktops. So space would be a consideration..

They will fit no problem. I'm very interested in finding out if this works.

The ram on my wifes 11 3168 is soldiered too. Bummer but seems to work great for her with the 500gb ssd I installed in it.

Yea the 16 I have is more than enough for what I do with this little notebook. Funning thing is I bought it for the tablet feature and have never even tried to learn to use it that way. I can't get past the keyboard has no protection in tablet mode!! I can just see me rippling off key caps and damaging the hinges or keyboard connectors

I use it every now and then. If you are careful you will be fine.

Getting ready to order my parts now. I am getting 64gb of corsair ddr4 ram and A new 2tb samsung evo 860 pro drive. Will be interesting after I get that all installed to see if there is any difference in editing and creating on my notebook. I have been flip flopping for a few months now since I have been working on different projects about getting a new device, this or that, or yada yada. I have decided to keep the little cheapy, toss some new parts into it to speed it up a bit more and wait a while to see what next year brings. Since we are just starting out with our new ventures, I feel the money I will save will be better used to push our businesses forward and pick a new system up at a later date.

I am on the road this week, and got some awesome photos from the area, I have most edited on the little dell and they all came out fantastic. Ready for printing and sale!
