    my Vostro 1700 is also delayed!

    When i ordered (12 July), it did go into pre production immediately and the estimated arrival 1 Aug.

    Today, the pre production date was set to today (27th) and the arrival date 24 of August!

    i ask why. And they told me that there is a glass problem (world wide) and they can't get enough TFT screens..

    We are discussing the same thing in the "European M1330 order progress" thread. I also called Dell today and got the same information as you. They also told me that they were working weekends to solve the problem and that they hopefully would get more screens/glass next week so they could start production on my Vostro.

    Luckily mine is not delayed at this point and still schedule for delivery the 10th of august!
