    my computer will freeze on web pages

    when i start my laptop, inspirion 1520,,,everything willl be okay, and then a web page will freeze...i have to go to alt-contl-delete..then it takes about a minute, and i can finally close it with task manager...anyone know why i am getting periodically freezes on my web page surfing..

    seems to be internet explorer causing all my problems...when i use firefox...no web page freeze.....just don,t understand why explorer is the problem...also had problem with explorer once on my desktop and explorer...seems to be a vista thing maybe...

    clear the browser cache, disable whatever third-party IE plugins that may exist, detect and remove any malwear

    thanks...i could not boot on battery power into windows, not even in safe mode..i think there is something wrong with the notebook,,,got a rma and sent it back to dell for refund....i re-installed the cpu it came with, 1.5 gz, and removed my ti 8300.., hope they don,t say anthing about that....hopefully not , if they do, i will insist on fixing the boot problem..

    with any action that voids the warranty of your notebook Dell is not obligated to fix anything.

    They're not likely to tear your heatsink off anyway, so they'll probably never notice if you swapped processors, especially if you replaced it with the original one before you sent it in. If anything, this sounds like either a software corruption or hard drive issue, so they should still fix it.
