from what I heard, 6 cel battery only lasts about 3.5 hrs on E1505. My 9 Cel battery could barely last over 4 hrs (many claim it lasts 4.5 hrs).

The M$ battery gauge is not completely accurate...I get between 4 and 4.5 hours out of my 9 cell...If in fact you get 5 hours out of a six cell...I would be amazed.

    Nice laptop, btw..I have a 1505 myself. :)

No the quicksnap is JUST for the top of the LCD monitor, however.. its looks really nice and provides a extra shell to protect the top of your lcd screen with.

    Have fun dude.

I am living in NYC too and I hate those UPS guys, they usually wait like till 7 pm to deliver. DHL is the best, they deliver at around 11 am. :)

How did you get the CDs with the notebook? Did you select Re-Installation CD option when you were the E1505? Or ordered later? My E1705 didn't come with any CDs.

I got mine on the 15th.. still not done with it..

I have alot of tweaks, setups, apps to install, games to install, patch etc.. I mean I am quick and all.. but setting up a battle station isnt that quick.. or painless... =(

Stayed up many nights to 3am working everything and checking everything.. least once its done however.. it will be self sufficiant and wont need any more work for quite sometime unless a program I use needs a real update.

Probably a placebo affect. How much damage can a few registry keys do on a 2ghz computer with a Gig of ram?

    To the poster:
The E1505 looks kinda big to me. Do you see yousrelf lugging it around or should I go with an E1405 for more portability?

Hey shof515, is your E1505 one with a matte screen, cause it doensn't seem to reflect the keyboard very much. Also, , whcicever type of screen it is, can you pl. tell me about the screen quality, am torn between a glossy and matte scren for the e1505.

We use Dell desktop PCs in my office at work and they have TFT monitors with matte screens, my screen faces a window and I don't have any problems with glare, so I stayed with matte on my 6400/E1505, also I didn't want to add any more to the cost of my order. I'm happy with matte and it performs fine for my needs.

Thanks. Even I use a matte LCD but I wondered if teh contrast would be less in a notebook since it will not always be plugged in to the mains. If the matte screen on the e1505 provides the same quality as the full sized LCD, i may be tempted to go for it. Matte then seems bright enough for me, even for DVD's or gaming.

If your in a highly "sunlit" area, next to window or outdoors etc. Then Matte would be more ideal.

If your like me who rather play in darker rooms, sunlight out. Nighttime useage, The glossy wins fully. My screen does look richer then a matte.

I usually use the computer for 1-2 days to make sure it works well.. then do a format and clean install.
